Martin Daske (Berlin,1962)

Composition studies in the USA at Dartmouth College with Christian Wolff, in Krakow and at the Salzburg Mozarteum with Prof. Boguslaw Schaeffer. Alongside his more traditional compositions (most recently: “sans paroles dans sables mouvants“ for sextet (2007) and "AquAria" for underwater singing (2008)), Daske developed a form of three-dimensional notation (“foliants“). In 2001 he founded the duo “Soundscrapers“ with the Berlin Philharmonic bassist Janne Saksala and in 2002, the duo “Die Klangschürfer“ (“The Sound Diggers”) with the vocal artist, Rainer Rudloff. Daske has created countless Hörspiele and other works for radio (most recently: “no barking at any time” (2006)), sound installations (“backbord ein kolibri”), childrens’ Hörspiele, music for theater and film (most recently: “Lunik“ (2006/2007) and "Je voudrais être légère" (Dance theater, Marseille 2008/2009)). Since 1989, together with Rainer Rubbert, he has been artistic director of the concert series "Unerhörte Musik" in Berlin. Daske has been running his own production studio since 1993: tribord studio. From the end of 2009 on collaboration with the artist Erika Matsunami.

CD productions with WERGO, edel-records, Hörverlag, Hörcompany and Baumhaus Verlag. Daske lives as a freelance author, director, producer and composer in Berlin. Since 2006 he is also the managing director of the Initiative Neue Musik e.V. Berlin.
