Shingo Inao (Chiba,1980)
Shingo Inao studierte Klanginstallation und Computer Musik bei Prof. Susumu Shono und Prof. Takayuki Rai am Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, wo er den Bachelor of Arts (Music) erreicht hat. Danach studierte er Medienkunst an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe und erreichte einen Master in Klanginstallation und Performance bei Prof. Robert Minard an der Bauhaus Universität in Weimar.
2009 war Inao Finalist beim Phonurgia Nova Preis (Frankreich) und 2009 hat er das DAAD Stipendium bekommen.
Seine Installationen wurden in den folgenden Institutionen und Messen ausgestellt: die Berliner Kunstmesse „Art Forum“, im Contemporary Museum in Weimar, beim TiefKLANG Sound Festival in Berlin, auf der römische Kunstmesse „ROMA artfair“, beim General Public Berlin, in der Galerie Eigenheim in Weimar (Einzelausstellung), auf der Imprimerie in Basel, im Mildred Lane Kemper Musem in St. Louis und in der Galerie Birgit Ostermeier in Berlin (Einzelausstellung).
Als Performer verwendet er oft ein selbstgebautes Sensorinstrument "Tosso", ein gewölbtes Instument das auf physische Bewegungen reagiert. Inao hat an den vielfaltigsten Veranstaltungen in verschiedensten Institutionen teilgonommen: u.a. MANI.FEST II in Weimar, ZKM in Karlsruhe, Leipjazzig in Leipzig, Blauer Salon in Berlin, Electronic Church in Berlin, M12 in Berlin, General Public in Berlin, Karlsruhe University of Arts, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop, Gare du Nord in Basel und RE/ACT Heidelberg.
